You would be hard pressed to find a collaboration as legendary as the CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 Kiss of Death 2021. A shoe that debuted back in 2006, it’s the brainchild of Hong Kong multi-hyphenate Edison Chen, iconic artist MC Yan, and of course the Beaverton brand. Originally used to celebrate the opening of China’s first sneaker boutique, it’s now set to make a comeback sixteen years later, and to say that we’re beyond hyped is an understatement in itself.Designed with the ideology of “chi” in mind, CLOT’s first AM1 shoe is painted in a truly one-of-a-kind colour scheme that’s unheard of these days. While it may feature a pretty clean beige upper, this acts as a canvas for a series of ultra vibrant hues that have become synonymous to this shoe. For instance, a soft orange tone arrives on the ostrich skin heel, while bold red accents make their way to the tongue and snakeskin Nike Swoosh that elegantly glides across the lateral and medial side panels. That’s not all though, as Chen has also introduced a pop of neon green to the top two eyelets, resulting in a look that you can’t help but to stare at in awe.We’ve haven’t even got to the best part of the KOD yet. Regarded as the vital life force that flows through the body, the foot diagram plays a major role in Chinese culture especially for acupuncture. To round it all off, an intricate rope pattern is embroidered at the back, followed by CLOT’s iconic logo finishing off the design.
